Call of Duty 2020, widely expected to be in development by both Treyarch and Sledgehammer Games, is still expected to release this fall (or Autumn, for those of us on this side of the pond), according to Activision Blizzard's Q1 2020 Financial Call.

Executives confirmed that a new "premium Call of Duty title" is expected this fall and has seen some positive responses in internal testing.

COD 2020 On Track - 8th May

A lot of rumours have been flying around stating that COD 2020 is delayed, fortnuately Activision has finally put an end to the rumours.

During a May 5th earnings call, Activisions COO Daniel Alegre confirmed the Call of Duty 2020 title is "on track for release later this year" despite the “challenges” the devs are facing.

Many rumours surrounding the title have suggested it could be a Black Ops reboot in a manner akin to last year's successful Modern Warfare reboot from Infinity Ward.

A release date towards the end of this year may point to the 2020 title being the first in the franchise to release on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, with both consoles still expected to launch this year.

We likely won't have long until we find out, either, with the majority of Call of Duty titles being revealed by the end of May in years passed, with more information shown at E3. While the latter event isn't happening in the traditional sense, we'd still be very surprised not to have at least a title and a trailer by the end of June.
