  • Key Update: On March 10, Bungie announced immediate changes to address the "hollow" feel of the Season 1 Rewards Pass. The update adds four new Runner Shell styles: three for the premium track (Thief, Assassin, Destroyer) and a Recon style for the free track.
  • Last Verified: March 10, 2026
  • Quick Answer: The mid-April update will add more cosmetic value to the Rewards Pass, while the LUX currency change (with retroactive credits for past buyers) is rolling out effectively immediately.

Bungie wants Marathon to succeed at all costs, and they've just announced massive changes to the game's Rewards Pass. Four new Runner Shell styles (skins) will be added to the game, with one of them part of the free track.

Announced on March 10, the developers responded swiftly to the heavily criticized Rewards Pass, which, in many players' minds, added nothing of substance for the cost.

This is everything that will be changing with the Marathon Rewards Pass in Season 1.

Marathon Rewards Pass Changes (Season 1)

  • S1 Rewards Pass: Three new Runner Shell Styles added to the premium track (Thief, Assassin, Destroyer) and one to the free track (Recon). New WSTR Shotgun Style and a Profile Emblem to the free track.

On top of that, two major updates will also come to the game:

  • Earned Arachne Shell Styles: Arachne Shell Styles will be available through the Codex as part of an upcoming update.
  • LUX: The $9.99 (or regional equivalent) LUX bundle now grants 1120 total LUX, up from 1100. Everyone who purchased this bundle prior to this change has been credited 20 LUX per bundle purchased.

When Are The Rewards Pass Changes Coming To Marathon?

Bungie has confirmed they are expected to implement the Season 1 Rewards Pass changes in mid-April, to coincide with the mid-season update.
