With only a few days away until launch, the preload for Black Ops 7 is now available. In other words, players can download all the files for the new game on their respective platforms in preparation for the game's release.
This will save them time as they won't have to wait too much to jump into the action once the servers go live. If you already pre-ordered the game or are subscribed to Xbox Game Pass, here is what you need to do now.
How to Preload Black Ops 7?
The preload process will vary depending on the platform you bought the title on, and it might not be available on some storefronts, as you will see below.
Consoles
Start your console and head to your storefront to look up the Black Ops 7 page. After pre-ordering, a button will appear on the store page to start the preload, regardless of whether you're on Xbox or PlayStation.
The download will be smaller if you have the Call of Duty HQ app already installed on your device, but it won't be a small feat.
Battle.net
If you bought the game on Battle.net, open the app and go to the Call of Duty tab. If you haven't installed the Call of Duty HQ, here are the steps to follow:
- Hit the install button to make a new window appear.
- Make sure the language and folder installations are correct.
- Check all the Black Ops 7 installation packs and then hit Start install.
You will download the Call of Duty HQ app along with all the files related to Black Ops 7, ready for launch.
For those who already have the COD HQ app, you will only need to head to the Call of Duty tab in the Battle.net app, hit the cogwheel right next to the Play button, and select Modify Install.
A new window will open where you can select which packs you want to install. Just select all the Black Ops 7 packs, confirm the changes, and the launcher will automatically preload the new game's files.
PC Game Pass
For any PC Game Pass subscriber who wants to preload the game, the first step will be to open the Xbox app and head over to the Call of Duty page. Hit the install button, follow the instructions, and make sure you select all the Black Ops 7 content packages.
If you have the Call of Duty HQ app already installed, here is how to preload the game:
- Open the Xbox app
- Look for the Call of Duty app on the list of installed games to the left.
- Once you find it, hit right-click and select Manage.
- In the new window, go to the Add-ons tab, and select all the packages related to Black Ops 7, except for the beta ones.
- This includes the Game Pass Packs and the Game Pass Pre-Order Packs.
