Crossplay remains a constant feature in modern Call of Duty games, allowing players to find matches with others, regardless of the platform they're currently on. However, some might not find it as helpful or enticing, as they only want to play with users using the same input devices.
With Black Ops 7 now live, we have prepared a short guide to explain how you can turn off this feature and limit your matchmaking to only users within the same ecosystem.
How to Disable Crossplay in Black Ops 7
If you are playing Black Ops 7 on console, whether it's PlayStation or Xbox, here is what you need to do to turn off crossplay:
- Once you open the Call of Duty HQ app and get into Black Ops 7, open the settings menu. You can do that from any mode, or even the main screen, before selecting a mode.
- Select the Account & Network option, or if you are inside the settings, go to the Account & Network tab.
- Once inside the tab, you will have three crossplay options under the Online section.
You can only turn off crossplay for Ranked Play, which is not available yet in Black Ops 7, or just for unranked games, meaning any public match in general. You also have the option to turn off crossplay in Warzone from here.
Keep in mind that after turning off crossplay, you can still get into matches with players from a different console. PC players are the only ones who won't be in your matches.
Can You Disable Crossplay on PC?
At the time of writing, crossplay cannot be disabled on the PC version of Black Ops 7. The developers could still add this feature in the future with an update, but it is not possible to turn off crossplay as of now.
