Battlefield 6 Season 1

Battlefield 6 is preparing to welcome the third and final phase of Season 1, with Winter Offensive going live tomorrow, December 9.

Split into three parts, Season 1 of Battlefield 6 got underway on October 28 and has provided players with new maps, modes, weapons, and more over the last six weeks.

Now, Winter Offensive is tasked with bringing down the curtain on Season 1, and here’s exactly when you can expect the finale to go live!

What Time Does Winter Offensive Release in BF6?

Based on the release schedule for Phases One and Two, Update 1.1.3.0 is likely to be deployed across all platforms at around 09:00 UTC on Tuesday, December 9. Players were previously required to download and install the update in advance, which included all technical and gameplay changes.

Then, Winter Offensive content will eventually go live later in the day, possibly around 15:00 UTC. This would see all of the new in-game content officially become available.

Again, these times are purely based on the release schedule of Season 1’s first two phases, and have not yet been confirmed by EA or Battlefield Studios.

What’s Included in the Winter Offensive Update?

In addition to the Update 1.1.3.0 Patch Notes linked above, Winter Offensive will introduce a snowy version of Empire State alongside a limited-time event called Ice Lock.

This mode is centered around a Freeze mechanic, which slowly reduces player health if they do not seek alternative heat sources. Combat zones will have designated heat zones to bring your core temperature back up to normal, while fires can be created using incendiary grenades and other gadgets.

Similar to the Ice Lock event for multiplayer, Gauntlet will also have a limited-time Ice Lock variant for REDSEC. At the same time, a new verified mode and all Winter Offensive content will be applied to Portal.

Elsewhere, the melee lineup will receive a new addition, with an Ice Climbing Axe matching the winter theme and landing accurate strikes for those close-knit skirmishes. The Ice Climbing Axe is expected to become available through a Winter Offensive bonus path, an 11-tier, time-limited reward track featuring event cosmetics, XP Boosters, and more.
