  • Quick Answer: Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game has been delayed to July 23rd, and pre-ordering will grant access to a cross-play beta.

Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game is shaping up to be one of the most interesting fighting games in a year stacked with them. Sadly, we'll have to wait a bit more to get our hands on it, as developer Gameplay Group revealed the game's going to stay in the oven an extra few weeks, now releasing on July 23.

The original release was scheduled for July 2. Via a social media post, Gameplay Group stated they will use the extra time to polish content that wasn't initially going to be part of the game.

"We’re taking a little extra time to cook up an exceptional Avatar adventure, including brand new content previously unplanned."

To compensate, those who pre-order on any of the available platforms, which include PC (via Steam), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series, will get access to a full cross-play beta from July 2 to the 5.

The news is quite sad, as people were already anticipating a very incredible-looking fighting 1v1 fighting game that mirrors the animation style of the show.

While I personally haven't been able to get into any of the betas, I really can't wait to get my hands on it come launch. Releasing just a couple of weeks prior to Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls looks like a daunting task, but if they can nail the launch, there's no reason to believe Avatar Legends won't have a dedicated player base of its own.
