At This Point, It’s Better to Play Marvel Rivals' Competitive Mode Instead of Quickplay

Marvel Rivals Competitive mode

Marvel Rivals is a hero shooter that looks enjoyable for both casual and competitive players, and for a period of time, it was. Those who simply want to have fun had the game's Quickplay mode as an option, while those who were looking for more serious combat opted for Rank matches, and both sides got exactly what they wanted.

However, as someone who has been playing since the game's release, I have noticed a serious issue in what was supposed to be the more casual side of Marvel Rivals. Quickplay matches, which were once enjoyable for beginners, have become stressful and demanding, a far cry from what it was before.

You would actually be much better off playing Marvel Rivals' competitive mode, but why is that? To start, those who've stuck around ever since the game's debut have become very skilled, and they're frequently choosing Quickplay over ranked matches.

Because they're choosing to head over to the game's casual side, they have essentially turned it into a place that's no different than Ranked. These people have changed Quickplay from the fun and stress-free environment it once was into one where nearly every match feels like a fight for survival.

Essentially, they turned it into the competitive scene, and I can confirm that you're very likely to run into them as opposed to those who are new or want to have fun. Since that's the case, there's no reason to bother sticking around playing unranked matches anymore, as there's no difference between them and ranked ones.

If that isn't enough to convince you, perhaps the fact that Quickplay matches can often consist of people who have no regard for team composition will. Many who play the game know that a good balance of the right Duelists, Vanguards, and Strategists is the difference between victory and defeat.

Those who frequent the competitive side understand that better than anyone, which means they're likely to pick heroes needed to make the best team composition. However, in Quickplay matches, many are indifferent to the team's needs, a problem that has been apparent since the game's release and one that will likely never go away.

If you're going to play unranked matches, you will likely see three or even four Duelists, and unless they're absolutely amazing and make up for the lack of team diversity, you'll likely be in for a horrible time. Being forced to comply with what the team needs just because others refuse to is never fun, and it will happen to you more often than not if you choose to do Quickplay matches.

Marvel Rivals' competitive scene may be more difficult, but at least the quality of the games has a higher chance of being better than the unranked side. There's also more incentive to choose it over the casual side, as at least you're rewarded for your efforts with potential badges and skins with enough victories.

So, in the game's current state, consider diving into the competitive mode rather than Quickplay, as the only difference between the two is that the latter has a higher chance of being paired with players who are indifferent to the team composition.
