On the PS5, the world will feel more alive, dynamic, and responsive to the player's journey. Thanks to the updated lighting system, players will be able to play Black Flag with ray tracing. This means the interiors will respond more accurately to light sources, and weather conditions will fully shift the mood.

The PS5 will also make use of micropolygon geometry, allowing environment and assets to scale smoothly from close-up details to distant shots without glaring transitions.

Black Flag Resynced will simulate real weather through Atmos. Instead of treating weather as isolated side effects, Atmos will constantly simulate variables like wind, temperature, and humidity. These variables will evolve and influence one another over time for a more dynamic weather system.

The water system is also getting an upgrade, and the sea will respond more naturally to weather, wind conditions, and ship movement.

Playing the game on PS5 will already be impressive, but playing it on PS5 Pro promises to be leagues better. The PS5 Pro benefits from extended ray tracing support, which provides richer lighting and reflection quality.
