Animal Crossing: New Horizons is just a few short hours away, arriving in less than 24 hours.
The franchise's first Switch exclusive title is sure to be popular with players of all ages and is likely to be a huge success for Nintendo as the company prepares to announce what it has in store for the rest of the year.
Whether you're jumping in for the first time, or you're a seasoned veteran of Tom Nook's various games, multiplayer can be tricky to wrap your head around. Thankfully, we've made it nice and simple.

How many players can play Online Multiplayer and Local Co-Op in Animal Crossing: New Horizons?
Good news, everyone!
While the game's controversial way of locking multiple users to the same island has caused a bit of ire from the community, you'll be able to load your island up with your friends.
That's because you can host four players locally (with multiple systems), while you can host eight if playing online. That's a busy island!
You'll need a Nintendo Switch Online membership to be able to play online, but if you don't have it, you'll be able to play in couch co-op.
That's a good thing and allows players that share the island (and by extension, the Switch console) to play using one Joy-Con each. Simply open up the NookPhone in-game, and call your friend's Islander.
