Battlefield 6 is seen as a return to form for the series, with the current open beta giving fans what they wanted from previous games with prettier graphics. With the game seemingly returning to its roots, fans want to see some older features from previous entries make a comeback. Naturally, this has led to requests for the return of Day and Night maps.
This is a feature we saw in games like Battlefield 3 and the oddly named Battlefield 1, among other older entries, offering fans a unique challenge in the military shooter. Players would have to endure the darkness, use their night vision goggles to try and find enemies, all while trying to come out as the winner. It sounds easy, but it is very challenging, which is why fans want to see it return.
Online user naha_aa asked fans on the BF subreddit if they want to see this feature return in Battlefield 6, and most of them said yes. Because this game is going for a realistic military shooter vibe, having Day and Night maps would only add to the realism.

Some fans want it to go even further with rain, which would make things even more difficult and challenging. While that sounds good on paper, that doesn’t seem likely right now, given how this game is already focusing on large amounts of destruction. That being said, it would be a great feature to add in the next game or for new DLC maps.
It will be interesting to see if EA does add Day and Night maps to Battlefield 6, as that would make the game a true return to form. Although it’s not a must-have feature by any means, the variety in settings would be appreciated, as would the change in battle tactics. EA has to regain the trust of fans, and they might be able to do that by bringing more of these older features back.
Based on the way fans are flocking to the Battlefield 6 open beta, this feature doesn’t have to return right now. Let’s just hope EA doesn’t ignore these requests.
