  • Quick Answer: Pokemon Pokopia currently features 300 species. While no new Pokemon are confirmed yet, fan favorites like Appletun and Tropius are highly anticipated for future updates.

There are approximately 300 Pokemon in Pokopia, and yet the people still yearn for more.

When Pokemon Pokopia launched earlier this month, fans went crazy for the cozy game. From the heartbreaking lore to the unhinged dialogue between Pokemon, many have praised the game for its take on the life-sim genre. But one thing on the wishlists of many is more Pokemon. With only 300 out of 1,025 Pokemon available in Pokopia, players have their fingers crossed that future updates and events will feature more of our familiar friends.

It seems we'll need to wait a little longer for any new Pokemon additions, but there are definitely some that need to be added soon. So, here are my top 8 picks (just in case Nintendo is reading).

Appletun

As a life-sim, having an adorable Pokemon like Appletun (who looks like an apple pie mixed with a turtle) would be amazing for Grass-type lovers.

A turtle-like creature with a green body and round, beige shell stands against a swirling pink and purple background, conveying a magical feel.

Not only are they adorable, but they could be a great addition for basic farming! It would be great if Appletun helped increase the chance of harvesting Perfect Berries, which is necessary to complete Chef Dente's 5-star recipes.

Tropius

For a game all about growing and rebuilding the barren world, it's a crime that Tropius wasn't included in Pokopia's initial line-up!

Tropius would be great with the Gather Specialty. It could gather Tropical Fruit and add it to your community box so that you have a constant supply of ingredients. No more hunting around Bleak Beach or Rocky Ridges!

Klefki

Klefki would be another great addition to Pokopia as a Storage Pokemon!

A small keychain-like creature with a silver ring and a face resembling a keyhole hovers in a dimly lit brick sewer, exuding a mysterious and playful tone.

Instead of lugging around a bag full of Lost Relics, Klefki can hold on to your resources so that you can easily access them. Maybe Klefki can also save some space in your bag by holding on to your items?

Forretress

Since one of the main gameplays of Pokopia is building and demolishing businesses, adding Forretress just makes sense. After all, its body is made of steel.

With that, Forretress would be a great Pokopia addition with the Build Specialty. It would be especially useful when building the Steel Watchtowers or Automated Gates. Perhaps it could even save you some refined iron?

Jynx

Jynx is definitely a controversial classic, but as a Pokemon that communicates through dance, having them on your island would be great for rebuilding community among Pokemon.

With her Psychic abilities, Jynx could bulldoze her way through barriers and make it easier for our Ditto to go through new paths. If included, Jynx could be a key player in expanding our island and rebuilding the towns.

Polteageist

As a fan favorite, it's almost baffling how Polteageist wasn't included in Pokopia. Maybe they'll be included in a Halloween event? We can only hope, but even that feels too far away!

If included in Pokopia, I think Polteageist would have the Hype Specialty. After all, what's a cozy party without a little tea? It would raise the comfort levels of all Pokemon in the town by dancing when near music, improving the general mood.

Alcremie

Just look at Alcremie - it's literally made from cream and strawberries. How could they not be included in this list?

With a Pokemon as sweet as Alcremie, it only makes sense that they get the Gather Honey specialty. After all, it's not a big leap that a Pokemon known for producing cream would want you to give it honey. It would also be amazing for cute decor lovers to get Alcremie-themed furniture after giving the Pokemon honey.

Drampa

In Pokemon lore, Drampa is considered a grandpa-like figure who becomes fiercely protective of the children it protects. Having a Pokemon like that in Pokopia would be great for the lore - we could see him mourn the loss of the human friends it had and then find solace in the other Pokemon it befriends.

In terms of specialties, Drampa would suit having the Yawn Specialty. It can tell us if rain is coming or if the humidity is too high - just like a reliable old grandfather would.
