When it comes to finding the best hard drive for PS4 and the PS5, there are loads of options to choose from this 2021, however, when it comes to what is and what isn't compatible with PS5, the waters can be slightly muddy.
Basically, you can use a hard drive (HDD) for PS4 to store your games and transfer them over to PS5. To play the games on PS5, you'll need to move them to its internal system and they'll need to be backwards compatible.
You can not store your PS5 games on an HDD or SSD at the time of writing.PS5 has a built-in custom SSD which is super powerful and it appears that there are no official announcements on PS5 compatible SSDs which match up to the speeds of this, however, this is in no way confirming that this will be the case in the future, and we're excited to see what Sony has up their sleeves.
