The PS5 Runs Hotter Than The Xbox Series X Claims A New Report

Overheating?

The final few months of 2020 is gearing up to be the biggest moments in recent memories for gamers.

With multiple AAA titles releasing along with the arrival of the next-generation consoles, there isn't a better time to be a gamer. 

If you happen to own a PS4 at the moment, you may notice your console becoming excessively loud when playing certain titles such as Modern Warfare. 

This may be linked to the console overheating or just peaking at a very high temperature.

This may become a problem for the PS5, as a new report claims the console has a higher peak temperature than the Xbox Series X.

Geronimo_73 posted on Twitter unconfirmed temperatures that the three next-generation consoles are going to be around.

They listed the estimated temperature along with the peak, and the difference is subtle but still notable.

They claim that the Xbox Series X will have an estimated temperature of 52 celsius and a peak of 62 celsius.

This is followed up by the Xbox Series S, which has an estimated temperature of 47 and a peak of 58.

Sony on the other hand comes in with a 55 celsius estimated temperature for the PS5 and a massive peak of 65 celsius. 

It is unconfirmed as of now whether or not these are the actual values of the consoles, but this also comes off reports that the Xbox Series X runs hot; originally noted by extremetech.com earlier in the week. 

With on-going reports the Xbox Series X runs hot, it could be a bit of a surprise that PS5 may in-fact run hotter. 

We will have to wait and see what the temperatures actually are when the consoles release in a months time!
