Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot's release date is set for early 2020 and as the launch draws closer, many will want to know extensive details surrounding its release. Here's what you need to know about the release date for Dragon Ball Z Kakarot on Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One and PC.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot's arrived and it's time to get stuck into the details for this major addition to the franchise's video game canon.

A new Dragon Ball game tends to be a regular occurrence these days, as we start off the new year with a game-changing new addition to the franchise.

The popular anime series has had video games made based off of its property for 33 years, selling well over 50 million copies across the franchise.

A new game has emerged, developed by CyberConnect2, to potentially separate it from the rest. Dragon Ball FighterZ was hailed as the game that Dragon Ball fans had always wanted.

Here's what you need to know about the release date for Dragon Ball Z Kakarot.

Release Date

The game will release on the 17th January 2020

It's already received great reviews from press outlets who have managed to play early.

Platforms

The game will release on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.

The game is a global launch scheduled for the same day.

Will DBZK Come To Switch?

It was confirmed in November that the game will not be coming to Nintendo Switch.

A number of Dragon Ball titles have made their way to the Nintendo Switch and although there are no immediate plans for it to launch on this console, it wouldn't surprise us to see it arrive down the line.

Demo

So far there has been no announcement about a playable demo or beta.

As we said many news outlets have already had a chance to try an early demo with positive reviews so far.

Season Pass And DLC Release Date

The game will come with a season pass, which will include two-story missions.

It's unclear what these are if, they're covering the majority of the DBZ story in the full game at release, you're likely to be left with the movies; traditionally seen as non-cannon.

It's unclear what these are if they're covering the majority of the DBZ story, you're likely to be left with only the movies; traditionally seen as non-cannon.

With that in mind, there are plenty of choices. The one that makes the most sense is the Broly movie, as it can fit in as a post-game mission; considering how popular the recent movie was, even if it wasn't from DBZ.

That leads us to consider whether the game may opt to use non-DBZ stories? Potentially looking at Dragon Ball Super or GT.
