The Apex Legends Global Series is the pinnacle of Apex Legends play. The best of the best competed in the first season of esports competitions and Year 2 of the competition is hopefully set to bring the finest players together for the first ALGS LAN events. However, EA has revealed that it is starting a talent search for the next season of broadcasts.
In a program that is called the Apex Legends Global Series Talent Search, EA is on the lookout for fans to join its ALGS broadcasts. You'll need to submit a tape of your best hosting, analysing, or casting to be in with a shot. Unfortunately the competition is only open to Apex Legends fans in the USA, but hopefully EA will expand the competition in the future to fully commit to its "worldwide" audience.
Submission details are a little hazy at the moment, but it seems likely that you'll have to submit the video on Twitter as EA says to follow the new Apex Legends Esports Twitter account which will explain it all on Friday, September 10.
ALGS Pro League Teams Revealed
The first 100 (or near enough) Apex Legends Global Series Pro League teams have also been revealed. These teams will be joined by 100 more, which will have to fight it out in qualifying matches, to make a total of 40 teams per region. Most teams will be familiar names if you watched the culmination of the ALGS Championship last season, but a new rule prevents esports organisations from entering two rosters - even in separate regions. This means that the likes of Kungarna's EMEA squad - formerly known as Nessy - are competing under the banner of Antares.
Two of the top three teams in the APAC North ALGS Championship have been released from their rosters due to the new ruling; COUQUE DASSE being the roster that won the Championship under the Fennel Korea banner, and LFTpko being the former T1 roster. However, one organisation seems to have escaped this rule, with Reignite fielding rosters in both APAC North and APAC South regions. Gfinity reached out to EA for comment about this, but did not hear back in time for publication.
