How To Get Rusted Parts

There are two ways that you can get rusted parts but the easiest way is to not help Gulliver. When he washes up on your shore, speak to him as usual and dig around for his communicator parts but do not give them to him. Instead, keep them in your pockets and the next day they will have become rusted parts.

The other way that you can get rusted parts is to give the communicator parts to Gulliver. If you check the recycle bin in Resident Services the next day, there should be one rusted part in it. Doing this will result in fewer rusted parts but you will get the reward from Gulliver too.

What To Do With Rusted Parts

At this current moment in time, there only seems to be one recipe that requires rusted parts but it needs a lot of them. The Robot Hero is a recipe that you can get using your Nook Miles at the Nook Stop in Resident Services but you will need 30 rusted parts alongside other scarce materials to build it.

This is the whole recipe for the Robot Hero:
