Which Consoles Will Animal Crossing New Horizons Be On?

Animal Crossing New Horizons will be the franchise's debut on the Nintendo Switch, having only featured on Nintendo devices since launching.

The series began back in 2001 with 'Animal Crossing' on the Nintendo 64 - the game was then enhanced and released for the GameCube the same year.

Since then the game has produced three more games in the main series:

  • Wild World (Nintendo DS - 2005)
  • City Folk (Wii - 2008)
  • New Leaf (3DS - 2012)

Now set to produce its fifth main series title 'New Horizons', it will feature on the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch Lite.

As you can see the game has only ever featured on Nintendo devices, with the exception of Pocket Camp that released on mobile.

It's very unlikely that the game will feature on any of the following consoles:

  • Xbox One
  • PS4
  • PC
  • Mobile
  • DS
  • 3DS
  • PC
  • Wii
  • Wii U

The only exception is if the game was illegally made into a ROM (to be used on emulators for PC).
