Animal Crossing New Horizons Back On Top Of UK Boxed Charts, Passes 1 Million Units Sold


One year later and Animal Crossing: New Horizons is still dominating the sales charts, with UK physical copies now passing 1 million sold.

That strong showing has seen the game top the UK sales charts once again last week. Nintendo's charming life sim is one of only two games released last year to hit the 1 million units milestone, the other being FIFA 21 which has been knocked down to second place following last week's chart-topping performance.

Animal Crossing New Horizons Back On Top Of UK Boxed Charts, Passes 1 Million Units Sold

As reported by GamesIndustry.biz, every game in the top 10 dropped sales this week, with Animal Crossing and FIFA sales declining by 21% and 34% respectively.

Physical sales of Outriders also dropped by 74%, seeing the game drop out of the top 10 altogether, though it's worth remembering that Square Enix's shooter is also available on Xbox Game Pass.

Switch sales continued to dominate despite the reduction in sales, with Monster Hunter Rise, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury, Ring Fit Adventure and the Switch version of Minecraft all placing within the top 10.

GTA V and Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War both reentered this week too, with Assassin's Creed Valhalla dropping one place from last week's 9th.
