When Is Museum Day?

International Museum Day takes place in Animal Crossing New Horizons for almost two entire weeks, running from May 18th, until May 31st. Unfortunately, you cannot time travel backwards to the event in order to celebrate it. If you missed it, you have to wait again!

What Is Museum Day?

During the above dates, you can talk to Blathers at the museum of your Animal Crossing New Horizons island. Isabelle will announce the event in her morning announcement, and from that point onwards, you can join in the fun simply by talking with the prestigious owl.

When speaking with Blathers, he will tell you about International Museum Day and the Stamp Rally that you can participate in. He will give you a card for each exhibit, and each card will require three stamps. These stamps can be acquired by finding the stamp stations around each exhibit.

There will be four stamp cards to fill with three stamps each; one card for each exhibit. Once you complete a card, you may claim your reward for that exhibit by speaking with Blathers. Once you have completed all four cards, that's all for International Museum Day and its events that day.

By speaking with Blathers any subsequent day, you can complete the Stamp Rally all over again but will be required to collect stamps from new stations around the museum. Unfortunately, however, the rewards you receive will be duplicates of what you receive the first time around.

Museum Day Event Rewards

After completing the Stamp rally, you'll receive the following:

  • Fish Plaque
  • Fossil Plaque
  • Bug Plaque
  • Art Plaque

Each plaque sells for 2500 bells, and cannot be customised.

That's all for Animal Crossing New Horizons International Museum Day; there was never a better excuse to go and appreciate your museum. Check out our extensive guides on fossils and art if you're yet to complete your museum, and don't forget to be working towards the perfect island whilst you're at it!
