In a rare twist for modern gaming, the Tiny Tina Wonderlands multiplayer features are surprisingly robust. Co-Op allows you to battle the chaotic forces of evil with your own heroic team, and it doesn't even matter which platform you play on. You can play with your buddies regardless.

The Dragon Lord has returned and is attempting to rule Tiny Tina's Wonderlands, so it's up to you to stop him. Like any Borderlands game before it, the Tiny Tina Wonderlands multiplayer features make it easy to grab a friend and get to work. Here's how you can squad up to battle through her game of Bunkers and Badasses.

Tiny Tina Wonderlands Multiplayer - Coop, Splitscreen, and Crossplay Explained

Tiny Tina Wonderlands multiplayer extends to all three types; online coop, splitscreen, and even crossplay. Here's how they differ, the limitations of each, and how to get started with your chosen mode.

How Does Tiny Tina Wonderlands Multiplayer Work?

If you and your buddies all play on the same platform, you're free to team up via the usual 2–4 player online multiplayer.

Even beyond that, Tiny Tina Wonderlands crossplay means you're free to mingle with whoever you want on whichever platform you want. Your Xbox buddy can join your PlayStation session, and then you can even hop into a PC server from there.

And, for what feels like the first time in a long time, splitscreen is back, baby! If you're happy with sharing a screen, you can get your friends and family in one room and bunker down together. Though the platform you play on will ultimately restrict your party size to the following:

  • 2 Player Split Screen: This is available on PS4 and Xbox One.
  • 4 Player Split Screen: This is available on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S

You can have up to four players working together in a single party in a Tiny Tina Wonderlands multiplayer session.

You can gather your team of badasses via online multiplayer or local multiplayer. If you choose the latter, you can play in the same room as your friends on one screen.

However, how many you can play with will depend on which system you have. Simply put, newer consoles can manage four, whereas older ones will only support two.

Tiny Tina Wonderlands Multiplayer Loot Settings Mode

When you start a game with your team of fellow heroes, you'll need to make an important choice. You need to decide how the loot will be dispersed between the teams and how the enemies behave in the game. Here's how each setting affects things.

What Is Cooperative Mode?

If you choose Cooperative mode, it will typically create a less frantic version of the game. Each player will be able to see their own loot drops, which means that every single player will gain items or rewards for each encounter. No loot thieves allowed!

The loot that drops will be tailored to each individual in your party. So characters with a lower experience level will get loot that's appropriate to them and higher-level characters will get higher-tier loot, everybody wins.

What Is Coopetition Mode?

Coopetition mode will ignite competitive chaos. Everyone in the party will see exactly the same loot.

You could be a very harmonious group that shares the loot equally, or it will be a case of grab now think later. If you choose the latter, then your team may have benevolent moments where they want to share out the loot. Alternatively, you could always keep your loot to bargain with other players if they have something you desperately want.

In this mode, the level of the enemies that spawn will be automatically set to match the level of the person that's acting as host. So, if you're the host and you have a higher level than your friends, they're probably going to have a hard time defeating the enemies that you can crush with your pinky finger. On the other hand, you could join a game that's too difficult for your current level.

Will the Cooperative or Coopetition Choice Be Locked?

Your choice will not be locked. If you find that the mode you have chosen is too easy, or that you're in danger of witnessing a catastrophic world-ending explosion between your friends, you can change the setting. To do this, head into the Multiplayer Settings in the Main Menu and change your decision.
