Revolving around a protagonist stuck in a loop that keeps her reliving her experiences, it looks to offer roguelike elements wrapped up in a glistening AAA outer shell.

Considering this is the studio that bought us modern arcade classics like Super Stardust, it's perhaps not surprising to see them offer finely-tuned shooter gameplay.

Here's all we know about Returnal so far.

The game was recently delayed from its March 19 release date to "give the team extra time to continue to polish the game", so it'll be landing on April 30.

The game will be a PS5 exclusive and will make use of the Dualsense controller's haptic feedback and adaptive triggers.

Who Are Housemarque?

Housemarque has arguably never made a bad game.

The team bought Super Stardust HD to the PS3, and followed that up with Dead Nation and Outland.

Resogun launched alongside the PS4, while Alienation, Nex Machina, and Matterfall all followed.

Returnal will be the studio's first PS5 game.
