The role of a Vanguard in Marvel Rivals is usually thankless, but one that a team will likely lose without. It is the frontliner, the one that is meant to soak up all the damage from enemies and keep them preoccupied from noticing your allies, and playing as one can be extremely satisfying.
However, some of you may wonder which among the heroes of that role is the best? Would it be Venom and his ability to soak up damage and escape? With her Arachno-Mine ability, she can cause a lot of devastation in a matter of seconds, and Peni can hide them wherever she pleases. The fact that the enemy won't have any idea as to where the mines are can make them overly cautious and mistake-prone.
When that happens, Peni Parker and her team can instantly capitalize on their apprehension, and I've won many matches because of that. The worst part, if you're against her, is knowing that she also has the Armored and Bionic Spider-Nest abilities, allowing her to make and hide even more mines, meaning the possibility of being instantly blown up will always be there.
That may not be enough of a convincing reason as to why she's the best Vanguard, so if you're looking for another, then how about the fact that she can easily stop various enemy Ultimate abilities? With her Cyber-Web Snare, any enemies hit by it are immediately immobilized for nearly a second, and with its three-second cooldown, you can imagine how impactful it is in its job.
I have stopped many ultimates from Doctor Strange, Scarlet Witch, and even Emma Frost players with that one ability, and it's helped me turn around many unwinnable situations into ones where I see myself and my team as the victor. I know that other Vanguards are also capable of preventing enemies from using their most powerful moves, but none do it as consistently as Peni Parker, which is why I see her as the best among them.
