Now that Season 1 is approaching, Raven Software has also posted its own Dev Video, talking about the new things and changes coming to Warzone in the near future. Although some additions were already disclosed at COD Next, there are a few surprises.
For starters, Raven confirmed that Open Matchmaking will be added to the battle royale once Season 1 is underway. This is the new matchmaking system with minimal skill consideration that was implemented into Black Ops 7 at launch.
We assume the game will now have both matchmaking styles available in the menu, Open and Classic. The latter is the same matchmaking we have seen in the latest Call of Duty titles since the launch of Modern Warfare (2019).
The second surprise is that Rebirth Island will receive a snow version when Season 2 comes out. The Resurgence map has been relifted to feature a winter season, and some areas and POIs will also be modified to bring more new elements.
If you want a quick look at the new Rebirth, you can see it below in the official Dev Video that was posted on Raven Software's social media accounts:
Players will have to wait a bit longer to experience a new Rebirth, given that Season 2 will not begin until sometime in late January/start of February.
Season 1 of Black Ops 7 and Warzone is scheduled to come out on Thursday, December 4, for all platforms. For more details, you can read the new stuff coming to Black Ops 7 here and the new stuff coming to Warzone here.
