If there was any hope for a Helldivers 2 Halo crossover before, the likelihood of it happening now has certainly skyrocketed. The latest Bring the Boom trailer, which highlights how Xbox players can finally enjoy Arrowhead Game Studios' creation, teased the potential collaboration with one of Microsoft's biggest franchises by playing a small but memorable tune that ODST fans are familiar with.
While it basically means that the world of Halo will coincide with that of Helldivers 2, it didn't necessarily share what that entails. It poses a question that many would likely love to know the answer to immediately: What kind of content should everyone expect to come out of it? Considering the scale of the crossover, there are many possibilities, but among them, a few are likely to happen.
1. New Halo-Based Armor

Based on the Helldivers 2 trailer, it's clear that fans can at least expect the iconic ODST armor to come to the game. However, there is a chance that others from the Halo franchise will also be included. Armor like that of Master Chief's or all the ones that can be unlocked and equipped in any of the Halo games would make for great additional content.
It is too good an opportunity for Arrowhead Game Studios to pass up, given how many would want them and are willing to do what's necessary to acquire them if they were to be in Helldivers 2. So, we can expect a lot of armor to be introduced to the game, as well as a lot of personal customization in the near future.
2. Iconic Halo Weapons

Aside from the armor, one of the best ways to get Xbox players excited over the thought of playing Helldivers 2 would have to be the possibility of being able to use the many weapons from the Halo franchise. Guns like the DMR, Magnum, or even those from the Covenant like the Plasma Pistols could certainly make their way to the game, as they all fit the setting.
The only question is whether they'll be introduced as skins for existing weapons or if they'll be separate. That is something for Arrowhead Game Studios to decide, but the latter will likely happen instead of the former.
3. Level Designs Based on Halo Locations

When it comes to places to fight the Automatons, Terminids, and the Illuminate, Helldivers 2 could use more variety. And that's where the Halo crossover comes in, as the franchise has many memorable locations that would make for perfect playable areas.
Areas like New Mombasa or New Alexandria could certainly make their way into Helldivers 2, and even places like High Charity would make for fitting additions. Hopefully, a lot of Halo's iconic locations make their way into the game, as they would all make for fantastic places for the galactic war to take place in.
4. Vehicles From the Halo Franchise

If there's one thing that Xbox players are looking forward to with the potential crossover, it's the idea of being able to drive iconic Halo vehicles in Helldivers 2. It would make sense for any of them to be added to the game, as they would fit the futuristic yet desolate setting of every planet, and they'd also make for additional travel and attack options that would really make gameplay more fun and engaging.
However, similar to the concern of adding weapons from Halo to the game, would they end up as skins, or will they be entirely new pieces of content? While it would certainly be sensible to go with the former, as it's likely easier to do something like give a Warthog cosmetic to the already existing Fast Recon Vehicle, the latter would be more preferred by fans. It gives everyone more things to look forward to and keeps everyone on their toes with every new update, ensuring that the game stays alive and relevant for a long time.
5. The Dangerous Enemies of Halo

Among all the content possibilities, this is the one that many would likely be the most excited over. While fighting the Illuminate, Terminids, and Automatons can be a fun time, it would be even more exciting if enemies like the Covenant or the Flood joined the fray and made their way into the world of Helldivers 2.
Aside from providing more variety in what players can fight, bringing in such dangerous foes would make the galactic war feel even bigger than it already is. If it happens, it can even open up the possibility of bringing in enemies from other sci-fi games, making this one of the most expected pieces of content with the most potential to come out from the crossover.
While all of these have a chance of making it into Helldivers 2, it's ultimately up to Arrowhead Game Studios and Halo Studios on what content will be added in the eventual update. Hopefully, the decisions they make are something that everyone can be satisfied with and help secure a bright future for the game.
