With all the rumors suggesting that the upcoming battle royale for Battlefield 6 will shadow drop once Season 1 begins, more information about it is starting to make the rounds on social media.
Leaker ModernWarzone, who previously reported the mode's release date, revealed on his X account (formerly Twitter) that the battle royale will include support for proximity chat on release.
When enabled, the proximity chat will let you hear and talk to players who are nearby, regardless of whether they are part of your team or not. We have seen this feature implemented in other popular battle royale titles, such as Warzone and Fortnite.
Season 1 is scheduled to launch on Tuesday, October 28th, bringing more content to the premium title. In case you haven't seen it, here is the trailer that gives us a better look at the new maps:
We don't expect to see any announcements regarding the release of the battle royale until that day, since EA is planning to shadow drop it.
Although no information has been confirmed, the general consensus is that this mode will be a separate free-to-play experience, allowing anyone to play it without having to purchase Battlefield 6. If that is the case, the franchise would be following the model Call of Duty has established with Warzone.
We will be reporting on any rumors about the battle royale as we get closer to its release. In the meantime, make sure to stick with us here at Gfinityesports.com, the best website for all things gaming.
