A new ARC Raiders map may have been accidentally revealed as eagle-eyed fans notice a suspicious-looking icon randomly plastered on the bottom left corner of their in-game map.
One Reddit user discovered a graphical bug that highlighted some of the game’s possible explorable locations overlaid on their workbenches. Apparently, many ARC Raiders players have already suspected that this could be the game’s next map: a city surrounded by a massive volcano.
The ARC Raiders community continued to delve deeper into this possible 6th area, and they discovered that tucked on the bottom left part of the Topside’s map is a massive volcano labeled “Volcanic Rise.”
Is a Volcano Map Coming to ARC Raiders?

While it has not been confirmed by Embark, a volcanic map in ARC Raiders sounds like an interesting idea. Raiders would get randomly interrupted by volcanic tremors, and chunks of molten rock would be spewed out of its burning mouth. For a game about looting and extracting, these natural disasters could make its gameplay far more interesting.
The volcano map could also be an opportunity for Embark to add Arcs that are not susceptible to fire. More Fireballs could be lurking around every corner, spraying their flame canisters on unsuspecting Raiders and watching them burn to death.
Boss-level Arcs like the Matriarch and Queen could be around, but a massive flamethrowing Arc could change how the map is meant to be played.
ARC Raiders’ Volcano Map and Its Real-World Inspiration

Fans are already aware that ARC Raiders’ entire map of Topside is based on Naples, a city in southern Italy. Even our Raiders’ quaint hub of Speranza is based on the Galleria Umberto Primo. Considering that Embark is a Swedish studio, it was interesting to see them use a post-apocalyptic Italy as their game’s prime location.
When overlaying the map of Topside with real-world geography, the suspected “Volcanic Rise” aligns closely with Mount Vesuvius, the iconic volcano responsible for burying Pompeii under ash and fire. Given ARC Raiders’ apocalyptic themes, this potential new region fits naturally within its world and lore.
What’s Next for ARC Raiders After the Cold Snap Update?
In the meantime, “Volcanic Rise” remains speculative, with no official announcement made yet. However, prior to the Cold Snap update, Embark announced that the next planned content would be a “Toxic Swamp” map condition.
While it is not considered a new explorable map, the upcoming swamp condition could serve as a teaser for future content, as effects like damage over time and poisonous air could also help set up the rumored “Volcano Rise” map.
ARC Raiders has officially sold over 12 million copies since its launch, bringing in new players every day to experience the thrill and frustration of its hybrid PvE and PvP elements. Embark is also giving away a free “Golden Hammer” Raider tool to celebrate its momentous achievement.
