Monster Hunter Wilds has been nothing short of exceptional. Even with its myriad of performance issues on PC, that doesn’t take away from the fact that it's a true evolution of the series. It has now become a fully mainstream franchise, beloved (and critiqued) by many. However, as the months go by, players have started to crave more content, including new monsters and a solid endgame grind. Thankfully, Capcom is already working on the latter with an update coming later this month.
At the same time, some are hoping for a more diverse monster roster in Monster Hunter Wilds, or more specifically, Invader monsters. Sure, Arkveld is technically an invading monster, but Wilds doesn’t seem to be borrowing the classic "Invader" AI from World or Sunbreak. Arkveld simply jumps from one area to another, harassing monsters rather than the player.
For those unfamiliar, Invader monsters in Monster Hunter are the relentless stalker-type enemies, think Mr. X or Lady Dimitrescu from Resident Evil. Instead of them chasing you to the ends of the earth, they pester you in the middle of the hunt. These monsters constantly interfere with your main objective, barging in like they own the place and messing up your tempo.

One of the most iconic Invader monsters is Monster Hunter World’s Bazelgeuse, and that might be exactly what fans are asking for. This flying wyvern is notorious for ruining your day by soaring overhead and dropping explosive scales mid-hunt. Imagine facing off against Bazel in Wilds in between fighting a Tempered Gore Magala or Lagiacrus. That would be insane.
Another strong candidate is the Brute Wyvern Deviljho, who would make an excellent addition to Wilds. His rig already exists in-game thanks to Guardian Anjanath, who shares the same skeleton. Deviljho’s insatiable appetite and humongous T-Rex-like form are intimidating, even from a veteran hunter like me. This beast doesn’t stop eating, and its huge jaw can rip apart any monster it encounters. Facing Deviljho with Wilds’ new mechanics would be a fantastic moment.

Other than that, there’s plenty more Invaders that could be good in Wilds. Valstrax could pose a danger in the Windward Plains, whereas the aggressive and angry gorilla Rajang can be a nuisance in the Iceshard Cliffs.
Right now, no one really knows what Capcom has in store for the future of the series. Title Update 4 is still up in the air, and we barely know anything about it. We already suspect that Title Update 3 could feature the return of Gogmazios, but TU4? That remains a mystery.
It would be a wild twist if Capcom stealthily added a true Invader monster into the game. That would be sick.
