Why I Think the Witch’s Staff Is the Best Weapon in Hades 2

If one thought the original Hades was hard, then its sequel ramps up the difficulty to great heights. Those who are currently enjoying Hades 2 will likely say that it can get quite challenging and that beating it is a huge task to undertake.

Overcoming the game is certainly possible, but it can only be done by figuring out which weapon to use that will help you achieve just that. Hades 2 has many options to choose from, but among them, I believe the Witch's Staff provides you with the best opportunity of beating the game.

Many of you may ask why that particular weapon instead of something like the powerful Moonstone Axe or the incredibly swift Sister Blades. The best answer I can give to that question is that the Witch's Staff helps you maintain a nice and safe distance, while still being exceptionally powerful.

A good reason why many players fail runs is that they are likely tempted to get too close and personal with enemies to deal damage, which leads to them soaking up a lot of hits fast and losing a ton of health. With the Witch's Staff, that won't be an issue, as its Omega Attack covers a long area, both front and back, keeping the user safe and foes at bay.

Some would argue that if a player wanted a safe and powerful ranged option, there's always the choice to use the Umbral Flames or even the Argent Skull. While both are good, the former's attacks take too long to kill enemies without the right Boons from the Gods, and the latter requires players to pick up the projectiles during each use, which can be very dangerous in many situations.

The Witch's Staff has none of those problems and allows the player to deal a lot of punishment with little to no worry. If that isn't enough, the weapon can be improved even further, as it has Daedalus upgrades that can turn any player into an unstoppable powerhouse.

With the right luck, you can make changes so that the Witch's Staff strikes twice at the cost of some mana, which includes Omega moves. That means you can plow through enemies even quicker than usual, while staying as far away from them as possible. There's even an upgrade that allows you to restore health with every kill with its Omega attack, further increasing your already high survivability rate while using the weapon.

While I don't use it as much, the Witch's Staff's special attack can also be very useful during fights. It's mostly there to provide secondary effects to enemies, as experience has taught me it's not as powerful as the weapon's regular attack, and it does its single job very well, especially since it shoots out fast.

So, if you're planning on playing Hades 2 or are having a tough time beating it, then I highly suggest sticking to Melinoe's Witch's Staff. It's reliable, it's powerful, and in the right hands, no enemy, not even the game's toughest bosses, will be an issue.
