Marvel Rivals Season 3 shocked everyone by removing Daily Missions, limiting the way players can get Chrono Tokens for the Battle Pass. While there are still weekly challenges that refill and other ways to get Chrono Tokens, the lack of Daily Missions does give players less of a reason to play every day.
It’s commendable how NetEase Games wants players to touch grass and play their game less. We don’t know if that was the intention, but the lack of Daily Missions has led to some gamers playing the online shooter less. This isn’t a bad thing, but some of us don’t want to touch grass and would love to keep playing every day.
Slow Battle Pass Progression
The lack of Daily Missions has made progressing through the Marvel Rivals Season 3 Battle Pass a slog. Unless fans paid double for the deluxe version of this Battle Pass, it’s going to take a while before players get specific costumes. It took me a good while to get the Emma Frost Phoenix Skin, that’s for sure.
Admittedly, the paid Battle Pass does mean there’s no rush to get certain skins, even the sexy ones. Still, it would be nice if getting them could happen at a quicker pace, like in the previous seasons. Luckily, Rivals is still a really fun game to play, but it would be better if Tokens were easier to get.
Spend Spend Spend
While we mentioned touching grass, we doubt the Marvel Rivals developers did that on purpose. Some devs probably want gamers to play less, but we figure they want players to spend more on the upgraded Battle Pass, which adds a ton of Chrono Tokens. Some players are willing to pay extra since the shooter is free, but others are more ethical than that.
Free-to-play shooters wanting players to spend extra is nothing new. In fact, there are full-priced games that want players to spend more on mundane features. It’s something that gamers have gotten used to, but that doesn’t make it any less greedy.
Play Other Games
Dedicating time to Marvel Rivals is great and all, but players should probably use this as an excuse to play other games. The shooter is a ton of fun, but there are plenty of single-player games and multiplayer titles to enjoy. Even if NetEase didn’t do it on purpose, this is a solid excuse to try something else.

Variety is a good thing, and players shouldn’t use all of their time to just play this game. Granted, it can be fun trying to max out other characters and gain those exclusive items, but gamers now have a reason to try something else.
Still, it would be great if Marvel Rivals found a solid balance between Chrono Tokens and making players try other things. Not Overwatch, but other good games.
