  • Key Update: Marvel Rivals are complaining about Deadpool’s annoying voicelines, and they want him to shut up.

  • Deadpool is a great addition to Marvel Rivals, but his relentless voicelines are overwhelming the game’s visual and auditory clutter.

It seems like Marvel Rivals’ latest hero, Deadpool, is causing a lot of ruckus in the community, and they want to shut his mouth up for good.

When Marvel Rivals Season 6 arrived, Deadpool was a promising hero thanks to his fourth-wall-breaking kit. Naturally, the overall excitement to try out this new hero was present during launch day, skyrocketing its usual Steam average daily count of 70,000 players to over 150,000 according to SteamCharts. It’s clear Deadpool was a big help for Marvel Rivals’ renewed popularity.

It didn’t take an entire week for players to complain about his incessant quips and never-ending commentary.

Someone is mad.

Deadpool is an all-rounder hero (a true jack of all trades, master of none), capable of filling the Vanguard, Duelist, or Strategist role, depending on the player’s choice. Banning one Deadpool role still opens up the two others, which essentially makes him an unavoidable hero to pick in every match.

And if you can’t ban a hero who fills all three major roles in Marvel Rivals, the chances of getting him on your team are almost guaranteed. In short, Deadpool now appears in nearly every match in Marvel Rivals due to his viability, regardless of rank. What does that mean for the community? Well, a constant sight of Deadpool means more Deadpool, and now they find him annoying, like the comic-accurate character that he is.

Deadpool just doesn’t shut up in Marvel Rivals. Everything he does comes with a voiceline. His ultimate charges fairly quickly, adding more noise to the already cluttered lobbies. Considering most matches will have a different type of Deadpool, your ears aren’t going to be safe from this blabbermouth.

More so, you could already tell that the match is going to be annoying from the first few seconds of match banter when Wade loves talking to his allied team. He attempts to break the fourth wall with a few notable easter eggs in various media. While fun at first, it becomes too repetitive and frustrating to deal with.

Deadpool is a pretty fun hero, no doubt about it. He has all the means to reach high-elo lobbies thanks to his highly adaptive abilities. But NetEase is just having too much fun letting Deadpool’s voicelines run wild, as players get to hear dialogues like “Does a Lord Icon do more damage?” or his beef with Galacta that almost always happens in every match.

To make matters worse, Deadpool’s censored bleep only adds chaos to the teamfights. With the game already turning into a visual clutterfest, adding auditory clutter only makes things overwhelming. NetEase’s decision not to put duct tape on the mouth of the most talkative superhero in the world was, honestly, a misstep.

But let’s give NetEase the benefit of the doubt. Deadpool’s addition is still fairly new, so for now, we’ll just have to get used to his annoying chatter until the inevitable patch notes arrive.
