Battlefield 6 may still be early in its lifecycle, but new discoveries suggest the game’s multiplayer lineup could soon become far more crowded.

Nine more modes were spotted in the files by dataminers, pointing to plans for a large expansion after release.

None of these modes is confirmed yet, but they match features tied to Season 1, so fans believe some or all could appear soon.

What’s Behind the Nine-Mode Claim?

Although Battlefield 6 is barely beyond launch, early digging into its game files suggests that the live-service shooter may be preparing to roll out nine additional multiplayer modes.

These references originally appeared after dataminers sifted through Season 1’s internal folders and found several unannounced mode names.

Some of these appeared in past file leaks, but a second round of discoveries has made the total list much larger than expected.

According to those findings, Battlefield 6 currently has a mix of previously hinted and newly spotted modes that are not yet playable.

Some had already been previewed before Season 1, such as Sabotage, Strikepoint, Raid, Payload, Squad Shootout, and Tank Hunt.

The latest data sweep introduced five new titles: Convoy, Fantastic Four, Gunmaster, Touchdown, and Tug of War. All are listed as prototypes still in development.

The fact that Strikepoint ended up in Season 1 gives some weight to the idea that at least a portion of these entries will eventually make their way into rotation.

How Could These Modes Work in Practice?

What exactly these new activities might look like has not been confirmed, but their labels have led to some educated guesses.

Gunmaster resembles classic weapon-progression game types that force players to cycle through different guns as they rack up kills.

Touchdown reads like a capture-the-flag-style mode, while Tug of War sounds like a linear push-pull contest where two sides fight to gain territory before being pushed back.

Convoy fits the escort-mission mold, potentially operating similarly to payload missions from other shooters.

Because they’re still labeled as prototypes, there’s no assurance any of them will arrive soon or even make it into the game; trial ideas often get reworked, renamed, or dropped before going public.

Could Portal Help With This Problem?

Others hope DICE will give the Portal idea proper attention, selecting and promoting standout community creations instead of allowing bot-farm lobbies to run unchecked.

Doing so could give fans a wider range of modes without splintering official matchmaking as severely.

For now, there is no official timeline for when (or if) all nine of these modes will roll out.

With Season 1’s final phase not scheduled until late in the year, players may not see the bulk of them until 2026.

If those internal files are anything to go by, Battlefield 6 appears set on growing its multiplayer long after release, regardless of how players feel.
