Is Warzone's Rebirth Island A Real Place?

While Season 2 of Black Ops Cold War and Warzone is now underway, a beloved map is still within the battle royale playlist.

Added during Season 1, the mini-map Rebirth Island is a compressed map that offers some amazing action within the game.

This map offers some similarities to a real-life location that many of you have pinpointed.

But, can the Rebirth Island map actually be found in real life?

Here's the answer!

Prison

For those who do not know, the Rebirth Island map is inspired by the iconic Alcatraz Prison that is off the coast of San Francisco's Bay Area.

This prison was once upon a time used for maximum security prisoners, and it was built in the middle of the 18th century.

Now, the prison has since been shut down and is a hot spot for tourists, where they are able to take guided tours of the iconic location.

Rebirth Island's main building is a prison, but the other portions of the map are not found within Alcatraz.

They are simple additions that Activision has added to spice up the map, but it is clear where they got the initial inspiration.
