Xbox Series X Graphics Source Code has allegedly been stolen and is now being held for $100 million ransom

The Xbox Series X will arrive this year (if COVID-19 doesn't change things), but a hacker has stolen the graphics source code of the console and is holding it to ransom.

As per a post from AMD, the graphics hardware company was "contacted by someone who claimed to have test files related to a subset of our current and future graphics products"

TorrentFreak reported yesterday that the leak was allegedly referring to the Navi 10, Navi 21, and Arden devices – with the latter the long-rumoured GPU for the upcoming Microsoft console.

Parts of the code have already been posted on GitHub, and the hacker is threatening to release the entirety of it online if they aren't paid $100 million dollars.

In the meantime, AMD has released a takedown notice (a DMCA) on the repository holding the code.
