Overwatch is starting a new era, and apart from ditching the 2 in its name, the game will receive five new heroes in one go.
Announced in this year's Overwatch Spotlight, the game will now transition to annual stories, with the 2026 story titled Reign of Talon. The first season, Season 1: Conquest, is set to launch on Tuesday, February 10.
Once the season goes live, the following new heroes will be available to use: Anran, Domina, Emre, Jetpack Cat, and Mizuki. Domina will be the only tank in this lineup, with Anran and Emre joining the Damage role, and Mizuki and Jetpack Cat joining the Support role.
Players will be able to try Anran first, as Wuyang's older sister will have a free trial weekend from February 5 until the new season comes out.

On top of these five heroes, the developers announced that five other heroes will be added to the game throughout this year's seasons, with 2026 slated to have six in total. The identity of the other heroes hasn't been revealed, but we got a small peek in the following image with their silhouettes blacked out:
As you can see, the hero at the back is most certainly a tank, given its prominent figure. We also have other standard-sized heroes, with even a new character controlling what appears to be a robot (or omnic?) dragonfly.
We can expect more news about at least one of the new heroes once we get closer to Season 2, which shouldn't take too long as seasons are now set to last around two months.
