Overwatch is starting a new year with a fresh storyline, and Season 1 is also bringing a collaboration with a brand many will recognize: Hello Kitty and Friends. Many heroes from the shooter will draw inspiration from the Japanese brand, dressing as the popular characters.
While we wait for the new collab event to kick off, here is everything you need to know about the content that will be added.
When Does the Overwatch and Hello Kitty and Friends Event Start?
The Overwatch and Hello Kitty and Friends collaboration is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, February 10, the same day Season 1 kicks off. The content will go live at 11:00 AM PT (7:00 PM GMT) for all platforms.
The collaboration should remain in the game for at least three weeks before all the content rotates out.
Trailer
Here is the animated trailer for the upcoming event, which shows us a 2D version of the Overwatch heroes that will get a new skin:
You can also watch the gameplay trailer, which was first shown at the Overwatch Spotlight event, to see the actual skins in action:
Skins
As you saw in the trailer, the collaboration will introduce six new skins. Here is a list of all the skins, as well as the character each hero represents:

- Juno - Hello Kitty
- Kiriko - Cinnamoroll
- Mercy - Pompompurin
- D.Va - My Melody
- Widowmaker - Kuromi
- Lucio - Keroppi
At the moment, it's unclear whether all skins will only be available through the shop or if any can be unlocked for free, as we've seen in some collaborations before.
We can expect each skin to be available through a bundle, complemented by other minor cosmetics. The price is also unknown, but we expect each bundle to cost around 2800 coins, which tends to be the usual price.
What Else Can We Expect?
Given that the trailers have only shown the new skins, we don't expect any other special content from this event aside from new challenges to unlock minor cosmetics.
