How to Get and Use Ambrosia in Hades 2

Hades 2

Hades 2

Ambrosia is one of the rarest gifts in Hades 2 and helps deepen bonds, open late-game incantations, and reach maximum relationship levels.

If you want to build strong ties with gods and allies or reveal hidden details about Boons, you’ll eventually need a stock of it. Here’s how to gather and put it to use.

How Do You Get Ambrosia?

You won’t come across Ambrosia by chance because enemies don’t drop it, chests don’t have it, and you can’t brew it early on.

Instead, every reliable source ties back to the Wretched Broker, but he won’t sell any until you’ve advanced the story a bit. The first step is to restore the Crossroads Taverna.

This is done by performing the Rite of Social Solidarity at the Cauldron. To cast that ritual, gather two Nectar and two Garlic.

Nectar appears as a reward behind doors marked with its icon during your runs, and it can also be purchased early from the Broker in exchange for Bones.

Garlic is a surface crop you can dig up in the City of Ephyra with the Silver Spade and replant at the Crossroads to grow more.

Reaching Ephyra requires unlocking access to the surface by breaking the witching wards, so expect to brew the Permeation of Witching-Wards incantation before you can go hunting for garlic.

Once you have the ingredients and perform the ritual, the Taverna comes back to life, and you’ll immediately receive your first bottle of Ambrosia as a reward.

From that point forward, the Wretched Broker adds Ambrosia to his Exotic Goods stock.

Each bottle usually costs around 450–500 Bones, and the shop generally limits you to one per night/run, meaning you’ll need multiple successful runs to build a supply.

How Do You Use Ambrosia?

The main use of Ambrosia is to bring gods and allies to the Taverna for a drink after it opens.

A successful visit progresses your relationship, unlocks higher heart tiers, and moves time ahead by 20 Whiles so plants can grow and lengthy Cauldron recipes can finish sooner.

Some Olympians also need Ambrosia before they reach their final bond rank, so it’s essential for anyone aiming to max out affinity.

You’ll also need it for the Insight Into Offerings incantation, which costs 2 Ambrosia, 2 Poppy, and 1 Golden Apple.

Once complete, the Book of Shadows will reveal the complete Boon list, along with descriptions and interactions to guide planning.

If a character refuses the gift, it usually means their bond isn’t far enough along, or you haven’t cleared the right story events yet. Focus on raising affinity with Nectar first, then circle back with Ambrosia once they’re ready.
