Remedy Entertainment’s sequel to one of the best sci-fi action games is here. Control: Resonant opens up new doors for the series’ future, ditching most of what we know from Jesse’s story in the first game with ambitious prospects.
Control: Resonant Release Date
Revealed at The Game Awards 2025, Control: Resonant is set to release sometime in 2026. No specific release date is available yet.
Who is the Protagonist in Control: Resonant

One of the biggest reveals in the trailer is that Dylan Faden is the new protagonist for Control: Resonant. Jesse Faden is nowhere to be found, and it’s time for the other sibling to take center stage.
What is the Story in Control: Resonant
As a sequel, it is likely that Control: Resonant takes place after the events of the first game. In the reveal trailer, we know that the Hiss and everything contained in the Federal Bureau of Control (FBC) escaped into the real world. This does not bode well for everything else, as Altered Objects and Objects of Power are now in the wilds.
Control: Resonant Gameplay
For the first time in the series, Control: Resonant will feature melee-based gameplay. Unlike Jesse’s ranged capabilities with her ranged archetype Service Weapon, Dylan’s Service Weapon will be based on the melee archetype.
The game will also take on an open-world approach compared to the first game's linear levels.
The reveal trailer showed brief snippets of its third-person gameplay, including Dylan transforming his Service Weapon into a sword and a massive hammer. We also see Dylan use the same levitate ability that Jesse had in the first game.
Control: Resonant Available Platforms
Control: Resonant will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Mac, Steam, and Epic Games.
Control: Resonant Pre-Orders
No pre-orders are available for Control: Resonant yet.
We will continue to update this hub when we get more details for this Control sequel.
