Larian Studios has released the latest update for Baldur’s Gate 3, drawing attention to one of its quirkiest bugs since the game’s 2023 launch—the static pool of blood in the Risen Road area of Act 1.
Called Hotfix #34, this may be the game’s final content update, introducing 12 new subclasses that significantly expand the gameplay options beyond what was already available.
So, what does this update include?
How Does Baldur’s Gate 3 Update Fixes Its Odd Bug?

Baldur’s Gate 3 has had its fair share of bugs, and one of them is finally being fixed. Larian Studios has acknowledged a minor yet visually odd glitch where a static pool of blood appears during the cinematic encounter with gnolls in the Risen Road area of Act 1.
Strangely, this glitch only occurs when playing as a Dark Urge character with a short body type. It doesn’t appear with other character types or body sizes.
According to its publisher, this bug has now been fixed and removed. While it’s just a minor, purely aesthetic issue, it highlights how tricky the game’s coding can be.
Though the bug doesn’t affect gameplay, it’s still puzzling to see how it only triggered under such specific circumstances.
What are the Other Bug Fixes Include in Baldur’s Gate 3’s Latest Update?

Baldur’s Gate 3’s latest update comes with a long list of bug fixes, including reduced crash risks and potential stability issues.
As what may be the game’s final patch, it introduces a series of improvements along with several optimizations for its Xbox version. It also features a native build for Steam Deck that lets players play directly on the platform without using a compatibility layer.
On the gameplay side, it corrects the Hound of Ill Omen and the Accursed Spectre’s HP, which were previously affected by difficulty modifiers intended only for enemy characters.
It also fixes a bug that caused the Apostle of Myrkul to regain Hit Points every time a savegame was loaded mid-combat in Tactician and Honour Mode.
The patch addresses several audio issues as well—from djinn summons that caused looping sounds to the audio levels of a rat in the Lower City whose squeaks couldn’t be heard.
In addition to the static pool of blood glitch, Hotfix #34 also improves many cinematics. For instance, one of the imps on the nautiloid will no longer look in the wrong direction, and an awkward ultra-close-up shot during Raphael’s dialogue at Last Light has been corrected.
Karlach’s line about Gale being a hero will no longer cut off prematurely, and party members will no longer appear as floating torsos or disembodied hair when speaking to Ketheric’s dog, Squire.
With this update, it seems most tweaks and adjustments for Baldur’s Gate 3 have finally been made, allowing players to enjoy a smoother experience moving forward.
