Battlefield 6 doesn’t stop at mission goals. Its campaign is full of assignments and secrets that pay off for players who explore and strategize.
Completing these objectives unlocks cosmetics, player-card items, new weapons, and XP boosters that carry over between the campaign and multiplayer.
How Do Campaign Assignments Work?
Campaign Assignments act as the game’s built-in milestone system for the story.

They’re divided into three groups that track progress and extra feats across missions:
- Mission Ready – tasks you complete simply by finishing a mission.
- Mission Complete – a second layer of rewards connected to late-game missions and harder campaign completions.
- Challenge Expert – optional post-story objectives that make you replay missions with specific restrictions, like using only a pistol or not firing a gun at all.
You can view these by going to the Challenges tab on the main menu, then selecting Campaign from the sidebar. Each tab shows your completion progress and reward status.
What Are the Mission Ready Assignments?
The Mission Ready set unlocks automatically as you play through the campaign, with no extra steps required.

- Always Faithful – Complete the mission to earn the Infiltrator title for your player card.
- The Rock – Finish the mission to unlock the Standard Issue Pax Armata character skin.
- Operation Gladius – Completing this unlocks the Raging Waters player-card background.
- Night Raid – Rewards you with the Standard Issue NATO character skin.
- No Sleep – Finishing this mission gives the Home Invasion player-card background.
Each of these can be completed on any difficulty setting. You’ll naturally finish them while playing through the story.
What Are the Mission Complete Assignments?
These assignments cover the later campaign missions, including one that tests your skills on the game’s highest difficulty.

They’re still doable on lower difficulties, except for the final entry.
- Moving Mountains – Completing this mission earns the Shield Bearer player-card title.
- Nile Guard – Unlocks another Standard Issue NATO skin.
- Operation Ember Strike – Rewards the Standard Issue Pax Armata skin.
- Always Forward – Completing the final story mission unlocks the Bighorn HK-16 melee weapon and Carnivore weapon package.
- Complete the Campaign on the Hardest Difficulty – Rewards the Elegant Ballistics weapon package once everything is completed.
While most of these are easy to finish by following the main storyline, the hardcore playthrough will demand patience and familiarity with enemy placement.
What Are the Challenge Expert Assignments?
These stand as the campaign’s toughest trials, introducing special rules and conditions that must be overcome.

There’s no difficulty requirement, so you can drop to the lowest setting to make them easier.
- No Fire Run – Clear the mission using melee, grenades, or gadgets only to receive the Polar Nexus weapon camo.
- Flawless Victory – Complete a mission without needing a revive to earn the Deathheader player-card title.
- Sidearm Specialist – Complete the mission using only a pistol to earn a Hardware XP Booster consumable.
- Sharpshooter – Get 30 headshots in one mission to unlock the Breach player-card background.
- Brawler – Get 10 melee eliminations in a single mission to unlock the Safeties On player-card icon.
These tasks are ideal for replays once you’re comfortable with each mission layout. They’re also a good excuse to revisit the campaign after completing it once.
Beyond the structured assignments, the campaign features collectible-based challenges. Each mission hides a set of dog tags, plus one hidden dinosaur toy collectible in Always Faithful.
What Are Class Assignments and How Do They Connect to the Campaign?
While Campaign Assignments are self-contained, completing the story feeds directly into your overall player progression.

Once you hit Rank 20, you’ll unlock a separate set of Class Assignments for multiplayer.
Each one is linked to one of the four Battlefield archetypes: Assault, Engineer, Support, and Recon, and completing them unlocks gear, gadgets, and subclass options known as Training Paths.
Each class has its own Expert tier, featuring powerful gear such as the M136 Guided Launcher for Engineers or the Tracer Dart for Recon. However, progress only counts when using that specific class.
