Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is the fifth instalment in the Black Ops sub-franchise.

The game is a direct sequel to the very first Black Ops title which released all the way back in 2010.

As part of the opening season of post-launch content, it has been revealed that the popular Gunfight mode will be returning on Black Ops Cold War.

The mode made its debut last October when the 2019 reboot of Modern Warfare released.

Gunfight quickly gained popularity among players thanks to its competitive nature and tournament mode where exclusive rewards could be earned.

Here is absolutely EVERYTHING we know about Gunfight in Black Ops Cold War.

Release Date

Gunfight arrives on Black Ops Cold War as part of the first season of post-launch content.

The 2v2 mode will be added to the game on December 10th.

Gameplay

Other than an announcement revealing that Gunfight will be coming to Black Ops Cold War, there is no gameplay to show just yet.

Considering that it will be released in December, it is likely that first gameplay will appear a few days before Season One begins.

As the first season of post-launch content for Black Ops Cold War approaches, developer Treyarch has confirmed the first four maps that will go live alongside the mode.

  • Game Show - Set in an 80s TV studio, Game Show contains a minimal amount of cover, forcing players to rely on their gunskill to defeat their opponents.
  • ICBM - Located in a missile launch facility, ICBM is a circular map with plenty of support struts and structures to utilise as cover in order to outwit the enemy.
  • KGB - Set inside the Lubyanka building, this almost symmetrical map contains wooden desk partitions and bookcases that offer little resistance to your opponent's gunfire.
  • U-Bahn - The underground tunnels of West Berlin play host to Gunfight. The subway carriages offer a slight height advantage while the support pillars make for great cover as you attempt to make a game-winning play.

Weapons

It is likely that there will be a range of weapons that will be able to be used in Gunfight.

Everything from pistols, assault rifles, sub-machine guns and sniper rifles are likely to be included in the Gunfight weapon pool.

Modes

Throughout the Modern Warfare game cycle, there have been a few variations on Gunfight ranging from 3v3 snipers only to matches which only use blueprints.

It is likely that there will be variations of a similar nature as the Black Ops Cold War game cycle progresses.
