The Pokemon Scarlet & Violet community saw an amazing moment when a player defeated a 7-Star Blastoise with a Gen 1 Magicarp. Blastoise, considered one of the strongest Pokemon from the first Generation, was defeated by Magicarp, known as the weakest.

The post came from Reddit user u/Nommable123. Active members of the community would be aware of his track record of defeating 7-star bosses with his weak monsters, and this is set to become an instant classic in that collection.

The trainer explained his strategy in detail under his post, stating that they used a team of Toxtricity, Polteageist, Alolan Golem, and our hero Magikarp. The setup is a bit lengthy, but it goes to show how much experimentation took place to buff Magicarp to the point where it can demolish a 7-star Raid Boss.

They started by Toxtricity and Polteageist using Eerie Impulse and Skill Swap, which was countered by a protective shield from Blatoise. This was followed up by Sunny Day from the Alolan Golem, which weakened the Blatoise’s Water moves while allowing Polteageist to use Light Screen as a defensive aid.

Toxcricity then used Swagger thrice on Magikarp, followed by Magikarp using Flail on its teammates to build up Tera charge and Metronome damage. Polteageist then uses Skill Swap on Alolan Golem and Magikarp to swap Galvanize onto Magikarp, after which the Electric Terrain is applied by the Alolan Golen that boosts the Galvanized Flail.

This is followed up by Toxtricity flinging a Lansat Berry at Magikarp, which raises the critical hit rate. Along with this, Alolan Golem continually uses Rock Blast on Blastoise. This activates Weak Armor. Then Trick Room is used by Polteageist while Toxtricity uses Helping Hand on Magikarp.

Attack Cheer is used by Polteageist. Meanwhile, Magikarps reduces its HP to maximise Flail’s damage. In the end, Magikarp Terastallizes and as the poster comments it “unleashes havoc on the world with Flail.”.

An insanely impressive play from someone who’s very clearly put in a lot of effort. As the Venusaur’s Raid Battle has come and gone, players can face the 7-Star Blastoise till Tuesday, March 12, 2024.

This isn't the only instance of Magicarp being used to demolish 7-star Raid Bosses, as we've also seen players wipe the floor with Decidueye and Chestnaught in the past.
