The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 was announced at E3 2019 at the end of Nintendo's traditional conference, and showed off a darker version of Hyrule.

While it caught many by surprise, it seemed the sequel to one of the best games of all time was still some way off. A year later, however, things might be different according to a duo that has worked on the game.

Breath of the Wild 2 Could Be Closer Than We Thought

We've barely heard a peep from Nintendo about the sequel to the first open-world Zelda title (although that's likely due to the current pandemic), but two voice actors may have inadvertently revealed the current state of the project.

As reported by Gamereactor, voice actors Marc Navarro and Nerea Alfonso (Spanish dubs for Revali and Zelda, respectively), appeared on the Spanish podcast "A Coffee With Nintendo".

On the show, the pair confirmed that their work on the new game is completed, with both then sheepishly admitting that they aren't sure if that information is supposed to have been divulged.

This suggests that the game's plot, script, and even localisation are complete (at least in Spanish-speaking regions), as well as confirming that Revali is returning. Will we hear more soon? Time will tell.

But it wasn't meant to be. According to GameXplain, the interview with the voice actors was mistranslated, with both merely joking about the secretive nature of the game. Neither is able to confirm or deny that they are returning for a Breath of the Wild sequel.
