With Breath of the Wild 2 out in the wild as a sure thing, many Nintendo fans are questioning where it is.
News has been limited since its surprise announcement at E3 2019 and left many crazy theorists to produce their own ideas on what is coming.
While we're confident Ganondorf will return in the Switch sequel, there's still a lot of questions floating around.
The recent announcement of Hyrule Warrior: Age of Calamity could hopefully help fill in some blanks on the Zelda lore.
But to get the really juicy stuff, we may have to wait a bit longer.
Breath Of The Wild 2 News Coming Soon
Producer of The Legend of the Zelda series, Eiji Aonuma, has informed fans that are looking for Breath of the Wild 2 updates will need to be patient and "wait a bit longer."
During the Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity announcement video, Aonuma said that the team is working hard on the sequel.
"We mentioned in the June 2019 Nintendo Direct presentation that we had started development on the sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild," Aonuma said.
"Many people around the world are still playing Breath of the Wild, so I'd like to thank you all from the bottom of my heart. Everyone, thank you so much. Regarding the sequel, in order to make the vast world you enjoyed exploring in the original game even more impressive, the team is working hard on its development, so you'll have to wait a bit longer before we can provide more updates."
But not all hope is lost, as you can scratch that Zelda itch with a brand new game.
Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity is set 100 years before the original Breath of the Wild and aims to tell the story of the Great Calamity.
The Great Calamity is the event that saw Calamity Ganon rise up and wreaks havoc on the land of Hyrule, leading to the events that take place in Breath of the Wild.
So while we may not get a sequel any time soon, we're at least getting a spiritual prequel in the form of this hack and slash adventure.
Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity arrives on Nintendo Switch on the 20th November - you can read all about it here.
