Xbox and Bethesda Will Hold A Joint Conference 'In A Few Weeks', According to Xbox Game Studios Boss

Microsoft and Bethesda will hold a joint conference in the coming weeks, according to a new interview with Xbox Game Studios boss Matt Booty.

Speaking with French outlet Le Figaro (thanks, VGC), the jumbo event will take place 'in a few weeks', suggesting it'll line up with Summer Game Fest and, of course, E3 2021.

While Booty did note that a joint event is coming, he also stressed the ongoing 'COVID impact' on what Xbox could show, suggesting that original titles were slowed down more than sequels.

He also declined to comment on any further acquisitions for Microsoft, who had splashed the cash in recent years to acquire the likes of Ninja Theory, Double Fine, and, of course, Bethesda's parent company Zenimax.

That $7.5 billion deal saw Microsoft acquire eight studios, including Bethesda Game Studios, Arkane, and id Software.

At the time, Xbox boss Phil Spencer said that “we have games that exist on other platforms, and we’re going to go support those games on the platforms they’re on."

He also said that new Bethesda exclusives will be exclusive to "platforms where Game Pass exists."
