Is Age Of Empires 4 Coming To Xbox One?

The fact that Age of Empires 4 also came to Xbox Game Pass when it launched is a good move, ensuring that more people will give the title a try. However, Age of Empires 4 was revealed as a console exclusive, but it wasn’t made clear if the game would only be coming to Xbox Series X or Xbox One.

Calling it a ‘console exclusive’ did confuse a lot of people, especially since Age of Empires 4 has been confirmed for PC, and it wasn’t made clear if the game would be Xbox Series X exclusive or not.

Xbox head Phil Spencer did previously state that we wouldn’t be seeing big Xbox Series X exclusives for a while, with Halo: Infinite still coming to the Xbox One alongside the Xbox Series X. Similary, Age of Empires 4's creative director, Adam Isgreen, stated in April 2021 that the team is "thinking about it" when it comes to a console version of the game.

The latest information we have is a tweet from Xbox ANZ, stating that "We don't have any information to share about a console version." We wouldn’t be too surprised if Age of Empires 4 did end up coming out on the Xbox One alongside the Xbox Series X, but for now, we’ll have to wait and see.

Age of Empires 4 will be coming out on PC on October 28.
