WoW Shadowlands: Shard of Domination Buffs Coming With Weekly Maintenance

Despite a hotfix that was accidentally pushed last week which would nerf the Shard of Domination set bonuses, Blizzard has confirmed today they will be buffing the frost and blood sets to bring them more in line with the unholy bonus.

A change we can only assume that was based on player feedback, is very welcome and Blizzard should take note when making changes like this for the future.

Many players are in favor of buffing underperforming areas instead of nerfing everything into the ground, as it doesn't make for a fun time for players, considering they spent weeks farming these shards in the first place.

WoW Shadowlands: Shard of Domination Buffs Coming With Weekly Maintenance

While this change is welcome in the community, it does not take away the fact that the Shard of Domination system is not a very liked system by many, and it was likely that if they went through with the nerfs, it would make it even worse.

The changes coming this week are:

  • Blood Link – The damage and healing amount has been increased at all ranks by 20%.
  • Winds of Winter – The amount of damage and healing stored by the Winds has been increased at all ranks by ~45%.
"The difference between the three Rune Words for the Shards of Domination system is bigger than we want it to be. We have identified and fixed a bug in Winds of Winter which was preventing some damaging and healing abilities from counting towards its total, and we have retuned Winds of Winter and Blood Link so that the relative power between Rune Word bonuses is more balanced." Patch notes read.

These changes will go live in each region's weekly maintenance.
