WoW Shadowlands: Sanctum Of Domination Is The Next Raid Coming With Patch 9.1 Chains Of Domination

After a long launch patch for Shadowlands, patch 9.1 will be arriving soon, and with it comes the next raid in World of Warcraft, the Sanctum of Domination.

This new 10 boss raid takes place inside Torghast, Tower of the Damned, and will feature many familiar faces and new foes.


The 10 bosses inside the Sanctum of Domination are:

  • The Tarragrue
  • Eye of the Jailer
  • The Nine
  • Remnant of Ner'zhul
  • Soulrender Dormazain
  • Painsmith Raznal
  • Guardian of the First Ones
  • Fatescrie Roh-Kalo
  • Kel'Thuzad
  • Sylvanas Windrunner

There are definitely some big names in there and it will be exciting to see the outcome of the raid and the impact it may have on the remainder of the expansion.

The loot rules will follow the recent trend with bosses 1 through to 8 dropping the same item level and 9 and 10 rewarding slightly higher levels.

  • Raid Finder: 213 and 220
  • Normal: 226 and 233
  • Heroic: 239 and 246
  • Mythic: 252 and 259

Hunter players rejoice! Sylvanas Windrunner will drop two items specific to your class.

The first is Rae'Shalre, Death's Whisper the bow used by Sylvanas herself. This bow is unique to hunters and has an added effect.

  • Fire a Wailing Arrow, which deals shadow damage to your target and additional shadow damage to all nearby targets within 8 yds of your target. Lesser creatures struck by a Wailing Arrow are stunned.

Sylvanas also can drop the Dark Ranger's Quiver, a back piece that can be work by all players, however, it has a unique effect only available to Hunters.

  • Every 5 shots, trigger Withering Fire, striking up to 5 enemies in front of you for Shadow damage.

There are three new mounts that will be obtained inside the Sanctum of Domination, the first is a rare drop from The Nine encounter called Sanctum Gloomcharger's Reins.

The next is your expected mythic raid drop from Sylvanas, Vengeance's Reins will be a 100% drop chance from mythic for two lucky players, for the rest of the expansion.


Finally, there will be a new Glory of the Sanctum Raider achievement, which will award the Hand of Hrestimorak, a new ridable hand mount.

New pets, armor sets, and weapon models will also be available around the theme of the Maw and Torghast.

While there is no date for patch 9.1 Chains of Domination, PTR seems to be wrapping up and we should expect an official announcement soon.
