Conduits are a part of the new borrowed power system introduced with the Shadowlands Expansion.
Conduits are talent-like bonuses that are broken up into three different categories. Endurance, focusing on defensive spells, Finese for mobility, and Potency for damage.
Once a player has unlocked a soulbind during their covenant campaign and unlocked the different slots once they are a high enough renown level, they can start adding conduits in to make their characters stronger.
WoW Shadowlands How To Get Conduits
But first, you need to unlock them, here are the types of content you can obtain them from.
- World quests
- World bosses
- Dungeon boss drops
- Raid boss drops
- PvP vendor
- Daily callings
- Ve'nari in the Maw (Unbound Reality Fragment)
Conduits have different ranks starting at 145 item level and can go up to 226 based on what level of content you are doing. The item levels will rise in patch 9.1 Chains of Domination.
Ve'nari upgrades are unique where they will assign you one at random based on your lowest conduits. This can be taken advantage of if you only purchase at times when you know you have a decent chance at receiving the one you are after.
To change conduits, you need to return to your covenant sanctum and visit the forge of bonds. Each time you change you spend a charge of conduit energy which can only be used 10 times before the player must wait a day before it recharges (1 per day).
Conduit energy has been a vocal talking point since the beta and recently Twitch streamer Asmongold brought it up in a post regarding the negativity in the World of Warcraft community.
The conduit system may not be the player's favorite system, however, it is in the game, and to make characters as strong as they can payers need to collect their conduits.
Patch 9.1 Chains of Domination will bring with it new levels of conduits from the new raid and world drops will increase in item level, and Blizzard has stood by their stance on keeping conduit energy in the game.
