With Gamescom right around the corner, many players are wondering if we will see any sort of World of Warcraft announcements this year.
There is a possibility for Classic and Shadowlands announcements, and a very unlikely chance to see a sneak peek into the next World of Warcraft expansion.
Will World Of Warcraft Present At Gamescom This Year?
Shadowlands will end the 9.1 Chains of Domination story with the end of the covenant campaign "What Lies Ahead" quest with week 9 of the patch and will likely leave a hint to where the rest of the expansion will take players.
Roughly two weeks later is Gamescom, which lines up to reveal a patch 9.1.5 and patch 9.2 for later in the year.
With Blizzcon being delayed again and promises of a digital event in 2022, this leaves Gamescom at a good time to announce 9.2, and the new expansion early next year.
There still is no date for phase 2 of Burning Crusade Classic, which is expected to release within the next 6 weeks.
Blizzard is no stranger to Gamescom, considering they announced the popular Legion expansion during Gamescom 2015.
Activision Blizzard has been confirmed to make an appearance at the event, although we do not know how much of a presence the Blizzard studio will have.
Blizzard also has other titles that may take priority at this event, with potential Overwatch 2 and Diablo 4 news.
Gamescom will be held on August 25th - 27th and will be held online.
