After a rough first week of Sanctum of Domination, Blizzard has made significant changes to the Sylvanas Windrunner encounter on normal and heroic difficulty as we saw a record number of guilds unable to down the encounter in the first week.
This came down to bugs during the fight, as well as, general tuning and hotfixes going live every day.
These changes are in effect during each region's weekly maintenance, alongside all the other previously announced hotfixes.
Sylvanas Windrunner Nerfed On Normal And Heroic Difficulty
- The total damage players must do to Sylvanas Windrunner has been reduced by approximately 5% in Normal and Heroic difficulties.
- Sylvanas Windrunner now transitions out of Stage 1 at 84% on Normal and Heroic difficulties.
"We felt that players were losing too much uptime due to mechanics, and getting out of the first phase much later than originally anticipated, so this is meant to curtail the length of the encounter without affecting difficulty too much."
- Veil of Darkness radius has been reduced in the third stage of the encounter.
- Banshee Wail and Banshee Scream radius reduced.
"Our goal here was to help ease the space constraints imposed by larger raid sizes, without substantially reducing the difficulty of the encounter."
These changes will make the encounter easier for guilds who were struggling during week one, as well as guilds who were unable to reach the encounter at all.
Naturally, the encounter will be easier this week as players clear the raid again and receive items from the weekly vault to become much stronger.
